What running Facebook ads in Toronto actually involves
The platform is the same everywhere. The auction, the geography and the audience are not.
Facebook and Meta are the same platform
Meta owns Facebook and Instagram, so Meta Ads and Facebook Ads describe the same Ads Manager and the same inventory. We use both names because buyers search both. Nothing about the campaign changes with the vocabulary.
Toronto is a crowded auction
You are bidding against national brands and franchise budgets for the same feed. Blanket city wide targeting puts a small business in the most expensive room in the building. Tight geography is how a modest budget survives.
A radius is not a strategy
Toronto behaves like a dozen markets rather than one. Someone in North York is rarely a realistic weekday customer for a shop in Etobicoke. Postal code and neighbourhood targeting reflects how people actually travel.
The city does not scroll in one language
A meaningful share of GTA buyers do not browse in English. We produce Facebook and Instagram creative in Farsi as well as English, which very few local competitors offer at all.
Boosting is not advertising
The Boost button optimises a post you already made, against an objective you did not choose. A campaign built in Ads Manager with a conversion objective, a structured audience and working tracking is a different mechanism. The budget can be identical; what the system is told to find is not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Facebook ads cost more in Toronto?
The auction is generally more competitive in a dense metro because more advertisers bid for the same impressions. What matters more than the city is how tightly you target inside it. A well defined local audience usually costs less per result than a broad Toronto wide one, even in an expensive market. We scope the budget at the audit rather than quoting a city average.
Can you target specific Toronto neighbourhoods?
Yes. Meta allows targeting by radius, postal code and city, and for most local businesses the tighter options outperform a city wide radius. Which setting is right depends on how far your customers genuinely travel, and that is one of the first things we establish.
We tried boosting posts and nothing happened. Why would this be different?
Boosting optimises for engagement on an existing post. A campaign built in Ads Manager with a conversion objective, a structured audience and tracking in place is a different mechanism. The budget can be the same. What changes is what the system has been told to go and find.
Can you run campaigns in languages other than English?
Yes. We produce Facebook and Instagram creative in Farsi as well as English and manage the account in either language. For parts of the GTA with a large Persian speaking community this reaches buyers that English only campaigns do not.
How do we know the leads are real?
Tracking is configured so a lead is recorded when a form is completed or a call is placed, not when an ad is seen, and reporting is tied to those events. If lead quality is poor that is usually an audience or offer problem, and it shows up in the numbers rather than being argued about.
